When you set out to craft a vodka from scratch, over 200 years of distilling experience comes in handy. Made in small batches, our Wheatley Vodka is the brainchild of our Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley, along with the dedicated team at the celebrated Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Craft Distilled

Crafted in small batches using Harlen’s one-of-a-kind micro-still and his unique wheat recipe, Wheatley Vodka is distilled a total of 10 times, triple-filtered, and bottled at 82 proof. An artisanal vodka, Wheatley has a clean, crisp, fresh taste. It delivers the kind of exceptional quality you would expect from the world’s most award-winning Distillery.

Wheatley is pure and crisp on the nose, with a clean taste and hints of soft vanilla. It stands up sturdily in a cocktail.
Armed with a chemistry degree and a chemical engineering degree, Harlen Wheatley came to our flagship distillery as a supervisor in 1995. By 2005, he was named Master Distiller, becoming Buffalo Trace's sixth Master Distiller since the Civil War. He oversees a number of our distilling and aging locations and actively educates the public about the Sazerac spirits portfolio. We proudly note that Harlen is a four-time James Beard Award nominee in the Outstanding Wine and Spirits Professional category. This is a distinctive testament to his top-notch career.
